Background
Enrique Tarrio, former chairman of the Proud Boys, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for seditious conspiracy related to the January 6, 2021 Capitol attack. Trump has repeatedly indicated he would consider pardoning many January 6 defendants if re-elected. In a 2023 CNN interview, Trump suggested he would evaluate cases individually but was inclined toward pardons for many participants. Trump's transition spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, has confirmed that pardon decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve YES if Donald Trump issues a presidential pardon to Enrique Tarrio at any point during a future presidential term. The market will resolve NO if Trump's term(s) end without issuing a pardon to Tarrio. The market will resolve N/A if Trump does not become president again.
Considerations
A commutation of Tarrio's sentence (reducing prison time without fully pardoning) would resolve as NO
A conditional pardon that still leaves some charges in place would resolve as NO - only a full pardon resolves as YES
If Tarrio receives a pardon from a different president, this resolves NO
If Tarrio's conviction is overturned on appeal before any pardon, making a pardon unnecessary, this resolves NO
